CTW Spring play – WWII revue : 10 January for read-through
5 JanHi everyone! Hoping you all had a relaxing, enjoyable, exciting, peaceful or at least happy Christmas!
This Spring we are proposing something different: it’s a revue written by Rex Walford entitled “It’s a Lovely Day Tomorrow!”. Based around World War II, it has singing, dancing and of course a strong cast of actors – if you enjoyed the panto you will love this.
It is to be directed by Gloria Milne, whose production of “Brassed Off” two years ago was such an exhilarating and memorable experience. The action centres on a family of four, with a goodly supporting cast. All Rex’s creations have been a delight to perform, and this has the added bonus of being a world premiere!
So if you want to be part of this ground-breaking event, please note these dates in your diary, and come along at the relevant times: Tuesday 10 January 2012 – Social Evening and Read-through Friday 13 January – Auditions Tuesday 17 January – Technical Production meeting Friday 20 January – First rehearsal Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 April – Dates of production Don’t miss out!
From the Committee.

The Grinch: the DVD of the show
17 FebGood news – on Saturday 26th Feb, at 7:30, we are having a viewing of our production of “The Grinch”. It’s happening in the freshly-refurbished Cottenham Community Centre, which as many of you already know is located in the former Methodist chapel opposite the Co-op. Come along for enjoyment, embarrassment or mirth, and bring some drink and nibbles. This is the event that makes it all worthwhile …
Best wishes

Daisy Pulls It Off
22 DecA merry Christmas! Hoping you have a fantastic time. We’re looking ahead now to next year, when our first production will be “Daisy Pulls It Off” in the Spring. Here are some notes from Sue Macdonald, our director for this production:
Our plucky heroine, Daisy Meredith, attempts to submerge her poor elementary school background and win acceptance in the snobby confines of Grangewood School for Young Ladies!
She undergoes a number of incredible tribulations (including possible expulsion!) before, by being honourable and straight in all things, all comes right in the end. Daisy and her chum Trixie save the lives of sneaky Monica and toady Sybil, discover the treasure of Grangewood, score the winning goal at hockey and find Daisy’s long-lost father!
That’s the brief outline of our Spring play, which we shall be performing early next April at the Village College, which will be lightly disguised as Grangewood! The read-through is on January 7th at 7:30, and the auditions will be on January 11th at 7:30, both at the Village College.
We shall be looking for plenty of young actresses to fill the parts of Daisy and her chums, so if you are interested in joining us please contact the director, Sue Macdonald, on 01954 252329 or suemacd@btinternet.com
Best wishes from The Committee.
